If you are planning on using your binoculars for birdwatching you want to look for a pair that is designed with good image quality. Binoculars provide three dimensional images that have more depth. Focus adjustments on each set of binoculars are different, some binocular lenses can be focused independently while others can be focused at the same time by turning a little wheel in between the telescopes.
The fog proof models have interior optical surfaces that won't fog due to rapid temperature changes or humidity. Apart from magnifying images, binoculars offer other functions also. The image is also duller when the magnification is greater then ten.
The first number gives the power of the magnification and the second number tells the diameter of the objective lens in millimeters which measures its light gathering strength. My personal experience has revealed binoculars in the two to five hundred dollar range perform well and I ve never missed a sighting because of their quality. One fascinating use of binoculars is looking at the night sky.
Like wine, you can go overboard on them, but don t need to. Now it is time to get outside.
